ÉTICA AMBIENTAL E DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL PERSPECTIVAS A PARTIR DAS PERIFÉRIAS
Abstract
O presente artigo, fundamentado no conceito de ética ambiental de Peter Singer, buscou analisar o desenvolvimento sustentável conforme estabelecido na Agenda 2030 das Nações Unidas. O trabalho também propôs discutir questões relacionadas ao modelo atual de produção e consumo, bem como o impacto ambiental causado ao planeta. Ao longo do texto, foram apresentados sistemas éticos que abordam diretamente a relação entre os indivíduos e o meio ambiente. A pesquisa, de caráter qualitativo, apoiou-se em estudos bibliográficos e documentais, os quais subsidiaram as reflexões desenvolvidas. Os resultados indicam que, sob uma perspectiva prática alinhada ao pensamento de Singer, a ética deve priorizar a atenção às minorias étnicas, a promoção da igualdade de gênero, a preservação ambiental e o enfrentamento de problemas sociais graves, como fome, doenças e desemprego, especialmente em países periféricos. Além disso, destaca-se a necessidade de uma crítica constante aos processos promovidos pela perspectiva antropocêntrica moderna, assim como a importância de valorizar e revitalizar conhecimentos tradicionais e saberes locais que possam contribuir para a construção de uma sociedade ecologicamente sustentável.
