VIOLENCE AGAINST ADOLESCENTS: A BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL CHALLENGE IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY
Abstract
Violence against adolescents remains a multifaceted and pervasive challenge in contemporary society, exerting a direct impact on their biopsychosocial development. Embedded within cultural and historical norms, it disrupts familial and social dynamics among youths. This study sought to scrutinize specialized literature concerning adolescent violence through a narrative review of scientific articles accessible in the Virtual Health Library, employing "violence" and "adolescents" as key search terms. Specifically, intrafamilial violence compromises the familial role and exacerbates emotional and behavioral issues. To tackle this intricate issue, concerted and comprehensive strategies are imperative, encompassing public policies for safeguarding, sociofamilial assistance, and awareness campaigns regarding its ramifications. The imperative nature of social dialogues to alleviate the deleterious impacts of such violence on adolescents' well-being is underscored.
