SOCIAL APPROACH TO DEPRESSION IN ADOLESCENCE
Abstract
The human evolutionary process is marked by different specific cycles, each with specific characteristics that require appropriate approaches to meet the particular needs of each phase. Adolescence stands out as a period of transition in human growth and development, characterized by intense physical, cognitive, psychological and social changes.In childhood, the prevalence of depressive disorder is low but shows a significant increase in adolescence, depressive symptoms present differently. This study aims to understand the social approach to depression in adolescence. For this, we usedthe deductive method and the collection of information through documentary and bibliographic research. Like this,It is necessary to invest in programs to promote mental health for all adolescents and prevention programs at risk for these conditions require an inter, multi and transdisciplinary approach seeking comprehensive care for these adolescents and their family members.
