"HE SAID HE WOULD KILL ME ...”: SEXIST CULTURE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND IMPUNITY
Abstract
The objective of this article is to present a brief reflection on the issues that involve domestic violence against women, the problematic of male sexism and impunity from a legal point of view. We start from the assumption that the subjugation of the female over time, linked to the perpetuation of male sexism and the difficulties to typify, judge and execute the penalties in relation to the cases included in the Maria da Penha Law and the Law of Feminicide, find in impunity one of the main instruments that make it difficult to combat this type of violence. Methodologically, this work was based on bibliographical, exploratory and documentary research, presenting a brief analysis of the Report "The Judiciary Power in the Application of the Maria da Penha Law", published in 2018.
