UNSPOKEN RULES IN THE SLUM’S CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Abstract

The present work aims to investigate the process of favela construction under a general aspect, focusing on the emergence of local norms seen as non - legal. To do so, it is initially intended to present a brief historical digression, from the beginning of the term in 1896, to its present conception, as a way of demonstrating how the formation of favelas occurred in the Brazilian scenario. In the sequence, it is intended to highlight how these social groups are seen in modern society, considered as minorities discriminated and often rejected and excluded from state policies. In this sense, it can be seen that favela is seen as a synonym for poverty, a place for mischief, a portal for trafficking and a source of disease, which creates a sense of forgetfulness on the part of the rest of the population. of forgetfulness and social isolation. Finally, we work with the proliferation of rules that are not spoken in these peripheral environments. It can be seen that the emergence of a non-legal order arises from the historical conjecture that has placed favela as a society parallel to civil society, which imposes a need for reflection on the recognition of these alternative norms as a way to make harmonious living in urban spaces feasible Brazilians.
