EXPERIENCE REPORT: REFLECTION ON PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE, THE JURY RITUAL IN THE CEILANDIA PLENARY AND INFLUENCED ASPECTS ON JURORS' DECISIONS
Abstract
This article is an experience report of the period in which we observed the Jury Court of Ceilândia. The objective of this study was to understand what were the influencing elements of the jurors in the construction of the truth. We analyzed 100 (one hundred) public cases judged in 2022; I carried out the non-participatory observation of 8 (eight) Plenary Sessions and we applied a semi-structured survey to 15 (fifteen) jurors. We interpreted the data using the sociology concepts developed by Pierre Bourdieu as habitus, field and capital, plus the concepts of power developed by Foucault and stigma developed by Goffman. In the end, we interpret that the Jury Court is not limited to Law, there are numerous social factors that influence the jurors, and it is essential for the professionals who work in the Jury to seek an interdisciplinary preparation to develop a quality work that faces the State.
