Abstract
The book "Saber dos Arquivos", from 2011, a collection of articles organized by Marlon Salomon, brings together texts by historians and philosophers who proposed to think about the role that archives play in different societies today as identity builders. The book is composed of five chapters that discuss from the State's relationship with archives to the new social uses that we can make of them, or that we are already making, as Artières puts it.
