THE ACTION OF MAN ON THE JACAREPAGUÁ LAGOONS, RIO DE JANEIRO
Abstract
RESUMO
Há necessidade de uma plena compreensão sobre a forma como o homem atua sobre o ambiente. É fundamental uma ação consciente e sustentável. No entanto, não é o que se constata em diversos bio-sistemas, especificamente, aquele presente nas lagoas de Jacarepaguá na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Essa ação desenfreada e pouco responsável vem causando efeitos colaterais sem precedentes na natureza, tais como, poluição, destruição da biodiversidade e aquecimento global. Neste artigo será mostrada a realidade das lagoas de Jacarepaguá. Será apresentado um breve relato sobre as dificuldades desse bioma da Zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro, que luta pela própria sobrevivência. Foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico sobre os problemas enfrentados, atualmente, pelo complexo lagunar alvo do estudo. A desigualdade social, a ocupação desordenada e a inércia das autoridades públicas se caracterizam como os fatores principais da agressão do homem a esse ambiente. Somado a esses fatores, pode se destacar a favelização na região, o crescimento de condomínios luxuosos e hotéis em áreas de proteção, a falta de saneamento básico das comunidades do entorno que despejam esgoto diretamente nas lagoas e rios da região. Por fim, o trabalho ressalta a importância de uma profunda reflexão acerca dos problemas enfrentados por essa localidade e as possíveis linhas de ação para a preservação desse ecossistema.
